Federation Artisan Chocolate is Tasmanian’s answer to the chocolate factory dreams of our childhood. Maurice and Helen Curtis purchased Federation Chocolates three years ago with the dream of turning their love of chocolate into a thriving business.

Purchasing the brand and original site at Taranna, the pair were quickly thrown into the world of chocolate. Making the decision to add value to the brand, they became one of just a handful “bean to bar” chocolate makers in Australia. They quickly outgrew their original site and made the decision to venture into the Hobart CBD. This is also when they made an important addition to their team, Chocolatier Sarah Black.

Federation Artisan Chocolate’s moulded chocolates and truffles have been handmade and flavoured using genuine ingredients. Where ever possible they use Tasmanian grown and made ingredients with no added essences and oils.

Sarah loves creating new and exciting chocolates every day so there is a never-ending choice of new flavours to try. Some of her creations so far have included Raspberry, Pistachio, Strawberry, Tequila Sunrise, Hellyers Road, Spiced Rum, Gin and Tonic, Christmas Pudding, Salted Caramel….
