Hobart will host one of the largest conferences ever to be held in Tasmania this week, the Australian International Education Conference (AIEC) 2017, starting today.

AIEC is considered the leading event on the international education calendar in Australia.

This is the first time Hobart has hosted the event, which has 1,250 delegates attending the conference from 10-13 October at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart.

The conference program features world leading experts, unique social events and an exhibition, all hosted in and around the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart on the waterfront.

The conference is the major opportunity each year for international education practitioners, teaching staff, researchers, policy makers and other stakeholders to learn about major industry trends and development and to network with Australian and international colleagues.

Approximately 15-20 per cent of attendees come from overseas.

Business Events Tasmania CEO Stuart Nettlefold said “this September to November is a bumper time for business events in Tasmania with over 40 national and international conferences being hosted”.

“AIEC demonstrates our ability to host significant conferences in our beautiful city Hobart,” Nettlefold said.
