Pademelons, Tassie devils, quolls, velvet worms, burrowing crayfish and ancient plants with Gondwanan origins: Cradle Mountain contains an amazing variety of plants and animals, many found nowhere else on earth but Tasmania. One can only feel inspired by the rugged beauty of the Cradle Mountain wilderness.

If you are thinking of taking a group to the region for a conference or meeting, make sure there is time to visit the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery. Here you will find a large and eclectic collection of art inspired by the wild landscape that surrounds it – and the wildlife that inhabits it.

The Wilderness Gallery is an extensive 12-room experience on the edge of the UNESCO Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area – within the Cradle Mountain Hotel.

Cradle Mountain Hotel is an inspired choice for your next conference, meeting or event. A stylish, four-star, 60 room wilderness hotel, set in an extraordinary natural environment, perfect for high-end incentives and multi-day conferences. With three onsite function rooms, a boardroom with a private deck, two offices—ideal for secretariats—and The Wilderness Gallery, Cradle Mountain Hotel has a venue to suit your needs.

“Tasmania has some of the best photographers and artists in the world and some of the best material to work with. Sitting on the edge of the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair region, artists are drawn to the wilderness and we want to work with them to celebrate this and show it and their work to the world,” says gallery curator Kylie Eastley.

The ‘Artist in Residency’ program offers artists from around the world an opportunity to come to Cradle Mountain and be inspired by its magical wilderness.

“Most of the artists are keen to meet and talk to delegates about their work. We currently have a sound artist who is doing performances throughout the property and Cradle Mountain – people love it. Other artists show visitors the work they are making or include them in the making process,” explains Kylie.

Cradle Mountain has multiple accommodation options, if required for overflow, including Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge with 86 accommodation rooms.

There are plenty of other group activities to be experienced in the area, including scenic helicopter flights, night time wildlife spotting, guided walks, canyoning, caving, photographic workshops, mountain bike riding and fly fishing.

Cradle Mountain is that once in a lifetime experience that your delegates won’t forget.
