The Business Events Tasmania (BET) Board is very pleased to announce the new CEO for the organisation will be Marnie Craig.

Marnie is currently the Housing Industry Association’s National Marketing and Communications Project Manager, a role she has been undertaking from Tasmania since she moved here in 2013.

Marnie has a strong sales background and also demonstrates strengths in relationship management, customer and member relations, commercial acumen, and leading change.

Marnie has become a passionate Tasmanian and a key driver for her application for the BET CEO role was her interest in becoming closer to the Tasmanian business community.

The board believes that Marnie is well placed to continue to drive Tasmania’s share of business events and the related economic and social benefits for the State. We are also very pleased that this appointment will see another woman being added to the ranks of Tasmanian CEOs.

Marnie lives in Hobart with her husband and two children, and will commence in the new role in early May.

The Board wishes to recognise outgoing CEO Stuart Nettlefold for his commitment to the organisation, the business events industry in Tasmania, and the way in which he has led the organisation over the last 8 years.

Stuart’s work to promote the broader benefits of national and international business events to Tasmania’s key industry sectors, as well as the creation of BET’s Tasmanian Ambassador Program will see the State well into the future. The BET Board wishes him success in his future endeavours.
